Who We Are at West London Hockey Charitable Foundation

Our Story

Our Values

West London Hockey Charitable Foundation was founded by Jeff Moores, the founder of Ealing Hockey Club, an award-winning community amateur sports club.  We wanted to share our passion with others. Our journey started with a small group of schools, and we wish to grow this and build a thriving community of athletes, coaches, and teachers.

Our Programmes

Give your pupils the chance to discover the joy of a team sport they can enjoy for life. One that they can play, regardless of size, gender, or strength – and play across all ethnicities and demographics. One that requires little outlay for equipment (and at the outset, we can even provide basic equipment, e.g. sticks, balls, etc).

A life of exercise, fun and friendships.

Commitment to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being: We promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles by providing accessible hockey programs, contributing to the well-being of children and young people. Our focus on a supportive and inclusive environment also addresses mental well-being.
  • SDG 4: Quality Education: Through structured coaching and developmental programs, we contribute to quality education by fostering essential life skills, teamwork, discipline, and confidence, complementing formal education.
  • SDG 5: Gender Equality: Hockey is a sport for all, and we actively encourage participation from both boys and girls, ensuring equal opportunities in sport and leadership development within our programs.
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities: A core tenet of our foundation is inclusivity. Our "Flyerz Hockey" program specifically targets individuals with disabilities, ensuring that sport is accessible to everyone, regardless of their background, ability, or financial circumstances, thereby reducing inequalities in participation.
  • SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: By fostering respect, teamwork, and community spirit, we contribute to building peaceful and inclusive societies. Our transparent and well-governed charitable operations also exemplify strong institutions.
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals: We actively seek and build partnerships with schools, community organizations (like the Young Ealing Foundation and Jack Petchey Foundation), and local authorities to amplify our impact and collectively work towards these sustainable development objectives.

We believe that sport has the power to drive positive social change, and through our dedication to making hockey accessible and inclusive, the West London Hockey Charitable Foundation is proud to play its part in achieving a more sustainable and equitable future.
